digital Slide Design tips

I thought that the tips about PowerPoint slides would be helpful considering that is what we have to use for our next speech. Some tips are to avoid using text or numbers as the main source of information on the slides because slides should be more visual. If you must use text use bullet points and give yourself a limited amount of points and stick to that number. Limit number of words for each bullet point that way you will not over use textual information. Make sure your font is large and clean that way your able to fit all the information, but your audience can still see it. Make sure your transitions fit in the the vibe you are trying to give off for the speech it is best if everything flows. Last but not least try to avoid special effects and use color well. Overall we want our slides to look organized condensed and to still be effective, so use the tips and your slide show is sure to be a success.

  1. Wow, I am really glad I read your post. I've been doing more power point than reading this week. I'll have to definately go over that section. Just when I thought my power point was ready to go, now I have to rethink at least half of it. Thank you for choosing this topic to write about. I currently have 7 slides with most of them having a bunch of words on them. Well, I 'll go back and re-tool it some. I did use bullet points and large font though. The one probelm I seem to have is usually over thinking my work. I wish I had more experience with powerpoint. Hopefully after class and I see everyone elses speeches, I will be better prepared for my next power point. Thanks Brie!
